Larimer County is using The Ranch events complex in Loveland as a temporary coronavirus isolation site for people who are homeless.
The site currently has 10 beds available for people who are homeless, can’t stay with friends or family members, and have either tested positive for coronavirus or were recently discharged from a hospital for acute respiratory issues with other illnesses ruled out and a positive coronavirus test result pending.
The plan offers a solution for homeless shelters and service providers who were coordinating to secure a safe isolation spot for homeless people infected with coronavirus. The county is working on other plans for using The Ranch complex during the coronavirus pandemic, but they haven’t been finalized yet, county spokesperson Michelle Bird said.
